Unfortunately there is a misconception that sadly limits many athletes with great potential, they believe: “Sport and performance psychology is only for those in a bad headspace or those who have had a significant physical or psychological setback”.
Although sport and performance psychology can be effective in overcoming mental barriers, it can also be utiliSed to build mental toughness/resilience and in doing so, build confidence and improve performance in training and under pressure.
We call this Positive Psychology because it is not just aimed at those with significant mental illness or psychological disorders.
