B Psych Science (Hons); Masters of Psych (Clinical); MAPS
I am a clinical psychologist who specialises in trauma and with a keen interest in a wide range of psychological problems, as well as behavioural and relational issues in teenagers and young adults.
Are you someone who feel like no one ever listens to your side of the story? Are you someone who wants to be more, but you feel pressured by other’s expectations? Are you someone who self-identifies as a push-over? Are you someone who is affected by one or more traumatic events (cancer, physical or sexual abuse, accidents, etc) in your life? Are you someone who struggles to look at yourself in the mirror? These are things that could be explored and healed in therapy!

Therapy for Teenagers and Young Adults
My approach to therapy is to put the client first in all situations. That means there will no judgement no matter what, instead, you will be provided with unconditional acceptance and positive regard. From my experience, this is the missing piece among many issues experienced by teenagers and young adults.
My goal as a psychologist is to help my clients live in a way that is consistent with their personal values and to be more than they thought they could be. To achieve that, boundaries, assertiveness, negative thoughts and trauma are topics that are often explored and processed.
I primarily work with teenagers, young people and adults. I am interested in working with people experiencing a range of concerns including:
- Stress
- Anxiety Disorders
- Depression and Bipolar Disorders
- Eating Disorders
- Self-confidence
- Assertiveness
- Chronic pain
- Trauma-related disorders
- School-related behavioural issues
- Couple counselling
- Weight loss issues
- Financial stress and conflicts
My previous experience includes working in a high school on the Gold Coast and in a prison in Brisbane. Therefore, no difficulty or issue is too minor or too major.
I am committed to using evidence-based therapy techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Financial Therapy (FT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
CBT: Often right before we feel any sort of emotion, be it anger, sadness or happiness, a thought pops up in our head without us realising. CBT helps us be aware of our thoughts and to attempt to change and challenge those thoughts in order to influence the way we feel, now and in the future. CBT also explores and challenges our deeper beliefs that are usually unrecognised.
ACT: This approach emphasises accepting your emotions and things that are out of your control. It utilises mindfulness and value-based exercises in order to free yourself from the traps and barriers of life, and see what you really want your life to be.
EFT: This approach is a revolutionary treatment method that offers healing from physical and emotional pain and disease. Without the use of needles, this form of acupuncture uses the fingertips to stimulate acupuncture points on the body. This approach is especially effective in processing trauma and clearing out unwanted feelings such as stress and food cravings.
EMDR: This is another psychotherapy technique that helps individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences. It involves a series of guided eye movements that stimulate the brain’s natural healing mechanisms. By targeting the root cause of emotional distress, EMDR helps individuals achieve lasting relief from their unwanted symptoms.
FT: Financial therapy is a specialised form of therapy that helps individuals and couples improve their relationship with money. It involves exploring emotions, beliefs, and behaviours that influence financial decisions and developing practical strategies to overcome financial stress. By addressing the underlying psychological factors that impact financial behaviours, it can provide long-term solutions to financial issues.
DBT: DBT aims to teach individuals to live in the moment and develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, and to improve relationship with others.
Mandarin and Cantonese Counselling
I was born and raised in Hong Kong and have been in Brisbane for 8 years. This means that I can also conduct psychotherapy in Cantonese and Mandarin. I love playing games, watching movies at the cinema as well as watching anime and TV shows.
ALSO, even though I am wearing a suit in the photo above, I definitely don’t wear a suit in therapy, so don’t worry about feeling pressured in our sessions, all I care is that you are comfortable and relaxed.
